From Gerry Franks’s sixteen edition:
“Where to find it, Buy it, Eat it in New York”
It is easy to see why the Cupping Room Cafe is one of the most popular places in Soho to meet and dine. In a noisy, convivial atmosphere, with a bar where you can drink and/or eat, all the news of the area is exchanged. The diverse comfort-food offerings at lunch and dinner include pastas, seafood, chicken, steaks, and vegetarian dishes. But breakfast and brunch are where they really shine: freshly baked pastries, fruit and cheese, waffles, pancakes, wonderful French toast, and eggs and omelets. Eggs Benedict can be custom-made from their Benedict bar. For lighter dining, there are soups, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Ask about daily dessert items; most are delicious, fresh, reasonably priced, and caloric. Live R&B, jazz, or world music is performed Wednesday through Saturday nights for a small cover charge.

Coffee for Me, Worms for Her
PANCAKE ORGY If the kids are home, we stay in and have lunch with them, but if they have a play date or other plans, then I like to take my wife out to this little place in SoHo that we love, the Cupping Room Cafe on West Broadway. They serve these wonderful whole wheat pancakes with yogurt, nuts, and fruit on top. It's called the Pancake Orgy, and thatÂ’s what we always get.
